With a holistic approach to empowering the women in business and the boardroom, WeLead Association is a non-profit organization, which supports Caribbean women in business, development and philanthropy through mentorship, training, conferences, coaching and counselling. Since its establishment in 2017, WeLead Caribbean continues to foster several programmes that are designed to empower women leaders today for tomorrow’s success.
Through our partnership with the U.S. State Department and U.S. Embassy in Guyana, WeLead Association has since trained twenty-five (25) women in Region 2, thirty-six (36) women in Region 6, twenty-five (25) in Region 10 and twenty-five (25) in Region 9 under the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program. Participants who were facilitated in the AWE entrepreneurship program were supplemented with localized content, as well as networking and mentorship opportunities. AWE is centered around the online training program, DreamBuilder, developed through a partnership between Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and global copper mining company FreeportMcMoRan.
We work with our partners to eliminate barriers to entrepreneurship for women
of lives touched through the ripple effect of women entrepreneurs’ success on others.
